As we approach the end of 2023, I am thrilled to share some of the key achievements HTSA has made towards our strategy this year!
Under our Bringing the Right People Together strategic theme our commitment to collaboration and partnership has never been stronger. All our activities emphasise the importance of facilitating individuals and groups to work together across the state to deliver impactful projects and build capacity.
The Getting the Right Projects Done strategic theme has focussed on projects that address what matters to the health system. Our new HTSA Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Catalyst Grant Scheme (the Catalyst), supported by the Hospital Research Foundation Group and the Women’s & Children’s Foundation, awarded six successful collaborative projects that are targeting high priority health service issues. We’ve also provided advice to a range of other local research projects on ways to elevate their applications to the MRFF, and other grant schemes, in the areas of CCI, impact and collaboration. Additionally, our MRFF Network has made sure that the latest MRFF intelligence is in the hands of those who need it to attract more grant funding to South Australia.
When considering our Building the Right Environment strategic theme, the highlight this year has been rolling out our HTSA Research Translation Essentials Course to over 70 participants. Feedback has been extremely positive, with participants leaving the 2-day course feeling more confident to navigate the complexities of translating research into tangible outcomes and impact.
Our quarterly “Spotlight Series” and our Networks – Women’s Health Research Translation Network, PRMS Research Collaborative, and Implementation Science Network – continue to be a great success, connecting well over 1500+ individuals and creating lively communities that are thriving on shared knowledge and passion.
It has also been a vibrant year in the consumer and community involvement space with HTSA delivering 15 group training sessions across our Partner organisations, engaging with 60+ people in our annual Consumer Engagement Summit and providing tailored advice to 35 individual project teams.
Within our Celebrate and Showcase Impact strategic theme we’ve been excited to present a revamped newsletter format: "Impact inYour Inbox" and "Executive Director Update" to help keep you informed about the work of HTSA and share examples of impactful research. We’ve also seen impressive growth of our LinkedIn and Twitter followers by 67% and 21%, respectively, allowing us to share the message about the importance of research translation with even more people!
In the background, we’ve been hard at work developing our new HTSA website. This is set to launch soon, so please keep an eye out for this in early 2024.
Finally, I would like to express my thanks to our valued Partners and the many stakeholder organisations, community members and individual clinicians, researchers, policy makers that make up the expansive HTSA community. Your support has been integral to our journey and the achievements that we have made thus far.
Here's to an ongoing spirit of collaboration, the pursuit of transformative projects, and the anticipation of celebrating even more impactful moments in the coming year!
