Health economics helps us understand how healthcare services are produced, consumed, and financed. It provides valuable insights into how we can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare deliver, and also helps policymakers make informed decisions about healthcare funding and resource allocation.
Thankyou to our special guest speakers for joining us throughout March at our weekly webinars.

Every year, Australia spends $180 billion dollars to deliver health services. However, around 20% of this spending is wasted. The Embedded Economist (Ee) program, led by NSW Regional Health Partners and Health Translation SA, aims to assist health services in the prevention of this waste. On this first session of the Spotlight Series: Health Economics, hear from A/Prof Penny Reeves, Prof Jon Karnon and Mr Andrew Partington about their experience in planning, delivering and implementing the Ee program.

In this series, we highlighted the unique challenges and opportunities in engaging with four key groups: Older Australians, individuals with intellectual disabilities, frail or homebound people, and youth.
