Executive Director

Tom Symonds is the Executive Director of Health Translation South Australia, South Australia's only NHMRC accredited health and medical Research Translation Centre. He is a Director of the Australian Medical Council and Board Chair of the Cure4CF Health Foundation. He also recently completed six years as Chair of the Adelaide Primary Health Network and nine years as a community member of the SA Board of the Medical Board of Australia.

Tom has experience in leadership roles in the National Health Service (England), Southern Adelaide Health Services, Flinders University, and in the South Australian Government’s Department of the Premier and Cabinet. He has successfully led multi-partner initiatives that align closely with the work and mission of Health Translation South Australia. Tom is known as a natural collaborator with a proven ability to bring people together, build trust, and foster impactful partnerships.
